The CNC technician operates one or more of the following machines: CNC Lathe, Mill, Robotic Welder, Press Break, Saws, and Laser prior to fabrication, paint and assembly. The CNC tech loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such quality and placement. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.


Essential Functions

  1. Operates one of the following: CNC Lathe, Mill, Robotic Welder, Press Break, Saws, and Laser
  2. Has basic hand tool knowledge and displays ability to use them (tape measure, square, grinder, level, calipers)
  3. Has basic dimensioning, tolerance and reading blueprints
  1. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
  2. Maintains necessary raw inventory needed and communicates in a timely fashion to purchasing when additional raw inventory is required.
  3. Regularly communicates with team leaders on the status and priority of tasks; such as when items are ready for field requests, what is currently being worked on, what needs to be cut first, etc.
  4. Assists in maintaining up-to-date documents by accurately and timely informing engineering with information that needs to be added or changed.
  5. Interprets CAD models and drawings to ensure proper dimensions.
  6. Reads job order to determine parts and procedures
  7. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts.
  8. Operates Crane safely
  9. Operates Forklift safely

Supervisory Responsibility


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. 


Physical Demands


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Thursday. Hours of work are:


  • Day shift begins no later than 6:00 a.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.


Opportunities to work extended hours and on the weekend work may be optional or required as job duties demand. 





No travel is regularly expected for this position. 


Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months’ related experience (in farming, construction, or manufacturing) or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Education and Experience

  1. One or more years of related experience.
