JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective

The Information Systems Technician's role will manage all in-house IT functions for the entire Puck organization and subsidiaries. This includes coordinating, managing, and addressing day-to-day IT-related activities of the organization. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Provide IT support and technical assistance to the entire Puck organization, including helpdesk related needs for end users.
  2. Responsible for monitoring, maintenance, and support of all day-to-day IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, security cameras, peripherals, system backups, and Office Automation equipment.
  3. Must be able to setup and deploy new workstations and other IT needs for new hires.
  4. Manage and inventory all IT assets including hardware, software, and equipment.
  5. Develop efficient system for documenting, tracking, and executing employee on-boarding, off-boarding, and day-to-day IT processes and task.
  6. Responsible for setting up and installing new infrastructure and equipment, including but not limited to computers, phones, cameras, door locks, printers, etc…
  7. Responsible for managing SQL database management for various software’s including ERP system, CAD System, and other specialty software’s.
  8. Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and systems.
  9. Work with supervisor and outside resources to identify infrastructure update priorities and appropriate strategies to address such needs.
  10. Must be willing to learn new processes and methodologies related to information systems management and deployment.

This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.  The position requires working in all areas within the facility, including the manufacturing area.  While in the manufacturing area, the team member is exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the manufacturing environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This position may occasionally require long hours and weekend work.

 

Travel

 

Some travel will be required to the various Puck locations, including out-of-the area and overnight travel. 

 

Required Education and Experience


  1. Position requires an AA/AS degree in computer related field plus two years relevant experience; a BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position


Preferred Education and Experience


  1. Agriculture or Manufacturing Industry experience.
